<image:caption>I explore the birth of consciousness through installation art, recreating the environment of my earliest memory. At three, I recall my consciousness merging with my body during a bath, emerging from an infinite, timeless white light. This memory takes form in a bathroom installation featuring a mirrored cabinet, sink, twin-tub washing machine, and shower curtain. Sculptures within represent fragments of subconscious memories, refined and reassembled.

White holds deep meaning for me, symbolising the light from which my consciousness was born. Each piece is coated in aged white paint, with peeling areas revealing blue, hinting at the connection between the bathroom and the light.

This experience shaped my understanding of the world, grounding my work in themes of time and metaphysics, tracing existence back to its formless origin.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Extracurricular classes have long been a preferred way for East Asia's upper class to cultivate cultural capital. French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu described cultural capital as the knowledge, skills, and habits individuals acquire through education, cultural engagement, and personal taste. Unlike economic capital, cultural capital is transferred in a more subtle and complex manner. While it carries higher risks,

it plays a vital role in reinforcing class boundaries. Using rosin as a conceptual starting point, I craft immersive sculptural installations that symbolize the middle-class pursuit of educational investment and reflect on the dynamics of family structures and generational ties in East Asian culture.</image:caption>

By printing participants' faces onto fabric and wrapping them around silicone balls, I invited them to kick these balls in a playful game. The physical motion distorts, shifts, and blurs the faces on the fabric, symbolizing how individuality fades under the pressures of social norms and collective conformity.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Land is often called “mother,” nurturing all life and providing a foundation for generations. Yet in traditional Chinese society, women have long been denied the right to own it. This past summer, I returned to my rural hometown in Sichuan to settle a land inheritance issue. During that process, I met many women who had lost their rightful claims due to lingering historical restrictions. Their stories showed me that although the law has improved, many deeply rooted social norms still oppress women and are not easily overturned.

Traditionally, women’s relationship to land has always been defined by men. They cannot receive their own shares; before marriage, they depend on their fathers, and afterward, they belong to their husbands’ households. This “mother” who nourishes all life, it seems, has never truly belonged to women. Through thisinstallation, I explore this contradiction. Condoms filled with breast milk hang in nets, symbolizing women’s nurturing role. As the milk slowly drips, it both feeds the land and suggests the depletion and loss of resources. When it runs dry, the condoms shrivel and burst, like discarded tools of population control—pointing directly to women’s objectification within the rules of society.</image:caption>
